Ride Beyond Limits with a Bianchi Road Bike, providing Italian Style since 1885
Bianchi was founded in 1885 by Edoardo Bianchi, and is the oldest bicycle company still in existence. They pioneered the use of equal sized wheels with pneumatic rubber tyres and the front wheel caliper brake!
Bianchi believes the frame is the heart of the bicycle and it is constantly investing in material technology with the aim to produce the best bikes in the world. Over the years many professional riders have campaigned Bianchis such as Fausto Coppi, Felice Gimondi, Mario Cipollini, Marco Pantani and Jan Ullrich.
The traditional colour that Bianchi is famous for is Celeste which is a shade of turquoise. There are a few stories about how this colour came about; perhaps our favourite is that it was the eye colour of a former Queen of Italy for whom Edoardo Bianchi made a bicycle (the crowned eagle of the company logo is an adaptation of the former royal crest).
Bianchi continues to make very beautiful and innovative bikes. While offering good value for money, the true value of the bike is in the frame; the heart and soul of any bike. Call in to see the range; you too could be riding a Bianchi on your next Lake District sportive.
